When presented with your legal dispute, we first try to understand the nature and background of the problem, to learn about your needs and goals for an outcome. We then help you choose a course to resolve the dispute. We help you to understand the range of costs incurred under various options, and to make acceptable, realistic choices to proceed, consistent with the financial realities of your situation.

Our standard retainer terms include:
♦ A written engagement letter signed by the attorney and the client, and any guarantor of the fee agreement. This letter defines the scope of our representation.
♦ Based upon an initial evaluation of the dispute, we require payment of an initial retainer fee. The retainer will be deposited into our Trust Account. We will draw upon this retainer and apply it against all charges posted to your account. These applications will be reflected on your subsequent bill(s). Any charges remaining after these applications will be billed to you. We reserve the right to require payment of an additional retainer as the matter progresses.
♦ We bill for services on an hourly basis. In addition to our hourly fees, the client pays for other customary charges such as photocopying, postage, delivery services, filing fees, experts, investigators, extra preparation, or outside process service, as each might become necessary.
♦ We endeavor to provide useful opinions and guidance to help you with your goals, and to resolve your legal dispute. Outcomes in legal disputes are not within our control and are not often readily predictable. We do not warrant that any particular outcome will be achieved.
♦ Our services are provided consistent with the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct.
